Welcome Father Michael Woods
The third of six children in my family, I was born, educated, and ordained to the priesthood in my native Ireland. I became a U.S. citizen in 2012 so that I might identify fully with the people I have come to love and serve.
Early in my priesthood, my hometown of Carlingford became the model for how to serve in every parish I would be assigned to.
Everyone in the village knew each other. Not everyone liked each other, but everyone knew they belonged. There was one parish church, no restaurants, two small grocery stores, a four-room school, one post office, and IO pubs. Like it or not we had to rub shoulders on a daily basis. Sunday Mass for me was the link binding us all together.
This background brought me to the wonderful parish of All Saints in 2006 as pastor. All Saints is a little bigger than Carlingford, but the mission is the same: "One Faith, one Hope, one Baptism, and one Father of us all."
