The Feast Day of Saint Blaise is Wednesday, February 3rd.
Blessing of the throat will take place after
all weekend Masses, Jan. 30th and 31st.
Due to COVID safety precautions, the Blessing of Throats for the Feast of St. Blaise will be done without the use of a pair of crossed candles at the throat of each parishioner. Instead, Father will offer a communal blessing for all in attendance.
St. Blaise was a bishop and martyr. He had been a doctor before he was ordained a priest. It is said that he cured a boy who had a bone stuck in his throat. St. Blaise is the Patron Saint of throat ailments.
