Empower Upper Cumberland is a program aimed at increasing the “prosperity IQ” of families in need and increasing the “poverty IQ” of the community by building relationships between families in need and positive mentors (called allies).
The Circles component of the program meets weekly and pairs families with various mentors (discussing things like financial literacy, career orientation, better parenting techniques, housing strategies, etc.).
The meetings are at dinner hour and the program has no funding for food. St. Francis has committed to prepare and serve dinner on the following dates throughout the year.
January 23rd
March 6th
April 17th
June 5th
July 10th
September 4th
October 23rd
December 18th
Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve these dinners at Cumberland Fellowship Church. Sign up sheets are in Sheehan Hall.
