At each monthly meeting, the council presents a certificate to a member Knight being honored as the Knight of the Month for the preceding month. Likewise, the council also presents a certificate to a Family that has been designated as the Family of the Month.
The selection of the Knight of the Month includes several considerations; among them are member’s with robust prayer-life that goes beyond weekly Mass attendance, significant contributions to the parish and church community, and service to the local community. The selection does not seek to identify a “superman” Knight each month, looks for members that live traditional Catholic masculine values and deserve recognition for doing so.
When selecting the Family of the Month, the selection committee looks for a parish family that models Christian family values and visibly lives them every day.
For the month of November 2022, Dave Finnel was awarded the Knight of the Month certificate and John and Denise Ranger were presented the Family of the Month. The council thanks them for their service to the parish and community.
Council meetings are held the second Thursday of each month at St. Francis of Assisi in Sheehan Hall. The Rosary is recited at 5:30 PM with the meeting to follow at 6:00 PM. |
