This Saturday evening Mass is usually Cantor and piano. Various musicians alternate covering music at this Mass, including our vocal quartet and other guest vocalists.
8:00 AM
The music at this Mass is covered by Sounds of Praise which consists of three singers and two violinists. They have been making music together for over ten years with both traditional and contemporary arrangements.
10:00 AM
Music at this Mass is covered by our main adult choir consisting of roughly forty singers. This choir blends more complex melodies and harmonies in a broad range of music styles that include everything from Chant and traditional music to Gospel arrangements.
Ensemble
Our ensemble groups minister through music at various liturgies including funerals. Members are notified of funeral masses and participate as able. Music is an important part of bereavement ministry and is open to all parish members who can sing and are available during daytime hours.
The selection of passages from the Bible is an important part of planning a funeral ceremony, as we want to turn to God's word for wisdom and comfort in this time of loss. The Word of God is at the heart of our Christian celebration of faith.
To make this easier for the family, we have included a number of passages which are appropriate for the occasion of a funeral. Please look over these passages as part of your funeral preparations and find those words which speak to your heart. You are not limited to these passages.
First Reading: taken from the Old Testament
Second Reading: taken from the New Testament
Gospel Reading: taken from the New Testament
The family is invited to choose one or two people to read the first two readings. The Priest reads the Gospel.
"God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."—REVELATION 21:4
