The heart of a parish is the Eucharist, but the parish family is the body that makes it a unique and vibrant community with an exciting parish life. |

A sense of community is important to any parish. The Parish Life Ministry of St. Francis of Assisi strives to create an atmosphere that is inclusive, welcoming, and engaging. Our goal is to promote parish unity by offering diverse activities, giving any parish member the opportunity to participate in some aspect of parish life that they find interesting or fun. Through our various subcommittees, we work to build a parish family spirit and improve Christian life in our Christ-Centered community. Please acquaint yourself with the variety of services that make up our "Parish Life". |
The Social Life Committee plans and implements various gatherings and activities designed for parishioners to come together and enjoy each other's company. Events may include dinners, golf outings, wine and cheese parties and other events that may be requested by our pastor or parishioners. Any parishioner may be part of the committee.
Due to COVID safety restrictions, no social events are currently scheduled. We are all hopeful that 2021 will provide more opportunities to socialize with our family of parishioners .

St. Francis has for many years provided a luncheon for the bereaved family after a funeral. After a meeting with the funeral coordinator, a family member meets with a representative of this committee to set a menu for the luncheon. There are several choices available to them. Parish volunteers provide the serving and setting up. Each month two people act as coordinators and handle the preparations for any funeral that particular month. The system works well and monthly assignments are made in advance for the entire year. All parishioners are welcome to volunteer to become a monthly coordinator.
Although we have had several funerals this past year, we have not been able to host any luncheons due to COVID safety precautions. We look forward to offering this comforting gathering event when the current restrictions are lifted.

This ministry sews blankets to provide prayer, solace and comfort to a parishioner who expresses a need for prayer and blessings in a difficult time of his or her life. The blankets are small and sewn by the ladies of the parish. They are blessed by our pastor and, in normal times, will remain in church for several days so that fellow parishioners may stop and pray for the person who will be receiving one. During COVID-19 restrictions, prayer blankets have been distributed differently. The person receiving the blanket will meet Kathy Upp in the church parking lot where they are provided with the blanket. |
